Jeroboam chose to do the exact opposite of the instructions and guidance provided by the Lord.Instead of following God, Jeroboam created two golden calves for worship.1 Kings 12:28-29[28]So the king took counsel and made two calves of gold. And he said to the people, It is too much for you to go [all the way] up to Jerusalem. Behold your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.
[29]And he set the one golden calf in Bethel, and the other he put in Dan.

These idols were placed in the locations of Bethel and Dan.
Because of this specific act of disobedience, Jeroboam’s dynasty did not last long.
There is a direct correlation between the level of neglect toward one’s assignment and the loss of divine favor.

The most important thing of all as revered in perspective is how you live before The Lord. The Lord promised Solomon that his kingdom would be established forever if he lived before Him as his father David did.2 Chronicles 7:17-18 [17]As for you[Solomon], if you will walk before me as David your father walked, and do all I have commanded you, and observe My statutes and My ordinances, [I Kings 11:1-11.]
[18]Then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, as I covenanted with David your father, saying, There shall not fail you a man to be ruler in Israel.

So living before the Lord is more important than how one lives before men.

The priority of an individual’s life should be their divine purpose.
Justification in one’s actions is found in how they live before the Lord and so the example set by David serves as the standard for living before God.

Worshipping any entity other than the LORD is defined as a wicked act of idolatry.

King Jeroboam of Israel was sovereignly elevated to his position of power by God.God bestowed the largest portion of the kingdom upon Jeroboam however Jeroboam’s subsequent actions stood in direct contrast to the high position God granted him.

After being lifted up by the Lord, Jeroboam turned against Him.
Jeroboam committed a grave sin by constructing two golden calves.
One of the golden calves was established in the location of Bethel.The second golden calf was placed in a location called Dan.1 Kings 12:28-30[28]So the king took counsel and made two calves of gold. From an ecclesiastical perspective in view, we realise that generous giving to the work of the Lord leads to multiplied blessings over one’s life.

It is a great and positive thing to contribute towards divine work.
One should never fail to fulfill a promise made to support the work of the Lord.

There is no spiritual reward for making a promise to the Lord that is not kept.

People that have seen a multiplied blessing over their lives for years are people that have been giving generously to the work of the LORD.

Biblical examples show that people gave immediately when commanded to provide an offering and that giving should be done without hesitation.

Offerings are not strictly limited to monetary contributions.
The Lord honors what an individual purposes in their heart to give.
Consistent generosity is a common trait among those who experience long-term blessings.

When The amalekites opposed the Israelites as they were leaving it did come to the concern of the Lord. The LORD saw how the amalekites opposed the Israelites. He witnessed how the amalekites opposed the Israelites 1 Samuel 15:2-3[2]Thus says the Lord of hosts, I have considered and will punish what Amalek did to Israel, how he set himself against him in the way when [Israel] came out of Egypt.[3]Now go and smite Amalek and utterly destroy all they have; do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.

We realise that Divine judgment was issued against the Amalekites because the Lord saw how they set themselves against Israel during the exodus from Egypt.

From a contextual basis in view, we realise that believers must exercise extreme caution regarding the alliances they form, as the wrong partnerships can destroy their work and purpose.

King Jehoshaphat of Judah made a critical error by entering into a business alliance with King Ahaziah of Israel.
The primary issue with the alliance was not the project itself, but the character of the partner, as King Ahaziah was known for doing “very wickedly.”

Because of this ungodly partnership, the Lord sent the prophet Eliezer to deliver a message of judgment against Jehoshaphat.
The prophet foretold that because Jehoshaphat joined with a wrongdoer, the Lord would destroy the works of his hands.

The ships the kings built together in Ezion-geber were wrecked and never reached their destination of Tarshish as thus The central lesson is that individuals should walk away from bad alliances to avoid the divine consequences associated with them.

The teaching is based on the biblical account found in 2 Chronicles 20:35-37 2 Chronicles 20:[35]After this, Jehoshaphat king of Judah joined with Ahaziah king of Israel, who did very wickedly.
[36]He joined him in building ships to go to Tarshish, building them in Ezion-geber.[37]Then Eliezer son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because you have joined Ahaziah, the Lord will destroy your works. So the ships were wrecked and unable to go to Tarshish.
