While we may not know if King Agrippa ultimately became a Christian, we do know that he was persuaded by Paul to consider the faith (Acts 26:28-29). Agrippa remarked, “You think it a small task to make a Christian of me?” to which Paul responded, “Whether short or long, I would to God that not only you, but also all who are listening to me today, might become such as I am, except for these chains.”

According to the chronological account in Scripture, we observe that the first individuals who heard John the Baptist preach confessed their sins prior to being baptized. Matthew 3:5-6[5]Then Jerusalem and all Judea and all the country round about the Jordan went out to him;
[6]And they were baptized in the Jordan by him, confessing their sins.

This contrasts with some people today who experience water baptism without first acknowledging their sins and So, It is essential to confess our sins before undergoing any form of water baptism. Unfortunately, many in our modern age take this sacred act for granted, and some have never been baptized at all.

The very first individuals to be baptized in biblical history were those who came to the wilderness of Judea. These were the initial listeners of John the Baptist’s message. While we do not know their exact number, we understand that they came to him, and after their baptisms, Jesus himself was also baptized.

Therefore, from this perspective, we recognize that those who first responded to John’s preaching in the wilderness were the pioneers of water baptism.

Jesus spoke of “all the powers of Hell” in Matthew 16:18 (AMPC):

“And I tell you, you are Peter [Greek, Petros — a large piece of rock], and on this rock [Greek, petra — a massive rock like Gibraltar] I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (the powers of the infernal region) shall not overpower it [nor be strong enough to withstand it].”[18]

The powers of Hell can be understood as demonic entities that actively oppose the advancement of the gospel. However, Jesus assured us that these forces, no matter their multitude, will not conquer the church He established.

Some are so influenced by the perceptions of others that they forget the vital role they are meant to play in their generation. Even Jesus faced moments where the crowd’s enthusiasm could have swayed Him. However, He understood that His divine mission extended far beyond mere popularity. Luke 4:43]But He said to them, I must preach the good news (the Gospel) of the kingdom of God to the other cities [and towns] also, for I was sent for this [purpose].

He recognized that while some may need Him in the moment, there were others who also required His presence and message. Thus, Jesus declared, “I must go to other towns,” emphasizing that His purpose was to “Preach the good news about the kingdom of God.” Remember, your mission is significant; stay focused and committed to your divine calling.

[21] And the inhabitants of one city shall go to those of another, saying, “Let us go speedily to pray and entreat the favor of the Lord and to seek, inquire of, and require the Lord of hosts. I will go also.”
[22] Yes, many people and strong nations shall come to Jerusalem to seek, inquire of, and require the Lord of hosts and to pray to the Lord for His favour.
