[2]Because I exalted you [Baasha] out of the dust and made you leader over My people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have made My people Israel sin, to provoke Me to anger with their sins,

But what did Baasha do after this divine elevation? Instead of following the Lord’s path, he decided to go against God’s will, leading others into sin.

This provoked the Lord’s anger to such an extent that He declared, “Anyone from Baasha’s family who dies in the city will be devoured by dogs, and those who die in the fields will be eaten by vultures!”1 Kings 16:3-4 3]Behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house, and will make your house like [that] of Jeroboam son of Nebat.4]Any of Baasha’s family who dies in the city the dogs shall eat, and any who dies in the field the birds of the heavens shall eat.

Take Balaam, for instance. When God told him to head over to Balak, who had called for him, things took an unexpected turn. As he was riding his donkey, the Angel of the Lord blocked his path. Now here’s the kicker—the donkey could see the Angel, but Balaam was completely oblivious! So, what does he do? He starts whacking the poor donkey, convinced it’s the one in the wrong, completely missing the fact that there’s an angelic roadblock up ahead.

The donkey was just trying to do the right thing by hesitating, but Balaam couldn’t see the bigger picture until the Lord finally opened his spiritual eyes. Only then was he able to recognize the Angel of the Lord standing right there! So, the moral of the story? Never jump to conclusions about a situation until the Lord has given you insight intoit.Numbers 22:28-3128]And the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, What have I done to you that you should strike me these three times?

From a pragmatic perspective in view , we realise that it’s crucial for our generation to stay vigilant and not allow others to sway us into things we don’t fully grasp. Seriously, when you let people lead you down a path of confusion, you can easily stray from the Lord and all the amazing plans He has for your life.

Let’s take a trip back to the plains of Moab with the Israelites at a place called Shittim. Picture this: the Israelites got a little too cozy with the Moabite women, who then convinced them to worship Baal of Peor. Spoiler alert: this didn’t end well. It sparked the Lord’s anger, resulting in a divine “nope” that led to some serious consequences for those involved in that worship. So, the moral of the story? Stay true to your beliefs and don’t get caught up in the chaos of peer pressure! Numbers 25:1-4[1]ISRAEL SETTLED down and remained in Shittim, and the people began to play the harlot with the daughters of Moab,2]Who invited the [Israelites] to the sacrifices of their gods, and [they] ate and bowed down to Moab’s gods.
[3]So Israel joined himself to [the god] Baal of Peor. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel.4]And the Lord said to Moses, Take all the leaders or chiefs of the people, and hang them before the Lord in the sun [after killing them], that the fierce anger of the Lord may turn away from Israel.

The bible warns that people can be detestable to the Lord without realizing it. It emphasizes that wrongful actions, similar to those of other nations, lead to being viewed negatively by God, as instructed to the Israelites before entering their promised land.

Actions can make one detestable to the Lord and so . It’s better to avoid those actions to please the creator of the universe. The Israelites were warned not to mimic the bad practices of other nations, as doing so would make them detestable to the Lord.. Deuteronomy 18:12]For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and it is because of these abominable practices that the Lord your God is driving them out before you.

Avoid actions that may make you detestable to the Lord; focus on doing what pleases the creator of the universe and in by so doing you will enjoy your life to the maximum

It is vital to be highly selective and careful about the people you choose to associate with in daily life.
People are often capable of harboring far more jealousy toward you than you could ever possibly imagine.

The current generation may exhibit higher levels of jealousy toward others compared to previous generations and so Jealousy is not a modern phenomenon; it has existed since ancient times, as documented

Biblical accounts illustrate that jealousy has been a persistent human struggle for thousands of years.
The biblical figure Isaac accumulated immense wealth, which ultimately triggered severe jealousy among the Philistines.Driven by envy, the Philistines actively sabotaged Isaac by filling his water wells with dirt and earth.
The wells that were destroyed had originally been dug by the servants of Isaac’s father, Abraham.
The Philistines’ primary goal in ruining the wells was to cause Isaac to lose out on his essential needs and future achievements.

This act of sabotage is specifically recorded in the scriptures under Genesis 26:15]Now all the wells which his father’s servants had dug in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had closed and filled with earth.

Despite the targeted malice and destructive actions of the Philistines, Isaac refused to be defeated.

Bringing your tithe to a location that violates the Lord’s instructions will negatively impact your spiritual walk with Him.

The Lord did not instruct believers to give their tithes to friends.
The Lord did not instruct believers to give their tithes to orphans.

Attempts to curse those whom the Lord has blessed are pragmatically futile and will never succeed.The Israelites traveled to the plains of Moab and settled there for a period of time.King Balak of Moab did not want the Israelites residing in his territory so, He actively desired for the Israelites to be cursed rather than blessed.

To achieve his goal, King Balak summoned Balaam, who was recognized as a man of God.The king’s explicit purpose in calling Balaam was to have him place a curse on the Israelites.Numbers 22:5-6[5]Sent messengers to Balaam [a foreteller of events] son of Beor at Pethor, which is by the [Euphrates] River, even to the land of the children of his people, to say to him, There is a people come out from Egypt; behold, they cover the face of the earth and they have settled down and dwell opposite me.[6]Now come, I beg of you, curse this people for me, for they are too powerful for me. Perhaps I may be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land, for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.

King Balak was willing to offer any amount of money required to secure the curse against the people.
King Balak failed to realize that the Lord would not allow His people to be cursed.
The man hired to curse the Israelites ultimately ended up blessing them instead.

The teaching demonstrates that divine protection overrides human intentions to cause harm and Financial influence and royal power were ineffective in altering God’s favor.

The historical encounter took place specifically on the plains of Moab.
