A war was taking place between the King of Aram and the King of Israel.The King of Aram met with his officials to plan their military mobilization and strategy.

The King of Aram designated a specific location for his military plans and strategy.
The King of Aram was unaware that his secret plans were being spiritually revealed to a man of God.Elisha, the man of God, received spiritual insight regarding the King of Aram’s secret strategies.2 Kings 6:8-10[8]When the king of Syria was warring against Israel, after counseling with his servants, he said, In such and such a place shall be my camp.9]Then the man of God sent to the king of Israel, saying, Beware that you pass not such a place, for the Syrians are coming down there.[10]Then the king of Israel sent to the place of which [Elisha] told and warned him; and thus he protected and saved himself there repeatedly.

Elisha warned the King of Israel about the specific plots and plans of the King of Aram.
The King of Aram discovered that his secret military plans had been leaked to the enemy.
The King of Aram accused his own officials of being traitors due to the leaked information.

It is crucial to consider how we appear before the eyes of the Lord.

We must examine whether we are a generation that acknowledges God or one that does not.

The scriptures describe a specific generation that arose after the death of Joshua and his contemporaries which failed to acknowledge, recognize, or understand the Lord.

This subsequent generation also had no knowledge of the works that God had performed for Israel.
The transition of generations is highlighted through the passing of Joshua and his peers.

The Philistines learned about David’s ascension to the throne.Upon hearing the news, the Philistines mobilized their forces to launch an attack against David.

The Philistines’ likely motive was to overthrow David and bring an end to his kingship.
David received word of the impending Philistine mobilization and threat.

In response to the threat, David sought divine guidance.
David directly petitioned God for counsel on how to proceed.
David specifically asked God if he should launch an attack against the Philistines.
God responded directly to David’s inquiry.

God commanded David to go ahead and launch the attack.God promised David that he would be victorious over his enemies.
God assured David that the Philistines would be delivered into his hands. 2 Samuel 5:19[19]David inquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said to David, Go up, for I will surely deliver [them] into your hand.

God said attack .. I will give the philistines in your hands and so David did as He had been instructed and given ago ahead by the Lord and so we realise that in David’s doing This, He succeeded

Moses ensured that he carried out all of the Lord’s instructions.

The Lord commanded Moses to take revenge against the Midianites.
The vengeance was ordered because of what the Midianites had led the people of Israel to do.Numbers 31:2-4
[2]Avenge the Israelites on the Midianites; afterward you shall be gathered to your [departed] people.
[3]And Moses said to the people, Arm men from among you for the war, that they may go against Midian and execute the Lord’s vengeance on Midian [for seducing Israel]. [Num. 25:16-18.]
[4]From each of the tribes of Israel you shall send 1,000 to the war.

The Midianites had led the people of Israel to commit idolatry.
Moses gathered 1,000 men from every tribe of Israel to form an army.
Moses and the gathered forces fought against the Midianites.
The battle was fought exactly as Moses had been instructed by the Lord.

Moses demonstrated obedience to God’s commands at the end of his life and so Every tribe of Israel was represented equally in the military campaign and so we should serve every divine instruction we have recieved from the Lord so that we may be at peace with the Lord in the same manner alike.

Have you ever been faced with a predicament you can’t contend against? King Asa of Judah faced a massive military predicament that was seemingly impossible to contend against on his own

Time came when a certain man from Ethiopia called Zerah invaded Judah When Zerah the Ethiopian invaded Judah, King Asa cried out to God in honest prayer and complete sincerity, leading to a divine victory.2 Chronicles 14:9-11[9]There came out against Judah Zerah the Ethiopian with a host of a million [that is, too many to be numbered] and 300 chariots, and came as far as Mareshah.[10]Then Asa went out against him, and they set up their lines of battle in the Valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.[11]Asa cried to the Lord his God, O Lord, there is none besides You to help, and it makes no difference to You whether the one You help is mighty or powerless. Help us, O Lord our God! For we rely on You, and we go against this multitude in Your name. O Lord, You are our God; let no man prevail against You!

But when Asa cried out to the LORD God defeated the Army before Him and before all the people of Judah 2 Chronicles 14:12 [12]So the Lord smote the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah, and the Ethiopians fled and so we realise in this that the ultimate victory of Judah was achieved not through military might, but because God intervened directly in response to Asa’s faithful plea.

The book of Deuteronomy shows us how God hides his face from us as due to some of the thing’s we conceive by our outward and inner attitudes Deu 31:18[18]And I will surely hide My face in that day because of all the evil which they have done in turning to other gods.

The Lord may sometimes hide His face from us preventing us from experiencing His presence.

People are often unaware when God has hidden His face from them.God hides His face due to the bad motives and self-interests that people address.

God spoke to Moses before Moses’s death regarding the future behavior of the Israelites.

God foretold how the Israelites would behave after Moses joined his ancestors.
God declared He would hide His face from the Israelites due to the evil they would commit and how The Israelites would perform actions that are abominable and against the purpose of the Lord.

The hiding of God’s face is a direct consequence of people turning to other gods.
Because God hides His face, people will face being devoured.

The hiding of God’s face causes people to experience disaster and as to thus, Personal motives and interests must be examined to understand why one might not feel God’s presence and so The historical warning to Moses serves as an explanation for why God withdraws His presence from us.

From an anticipated perspective in view, we realise that The commanders of Hanun brought immense trouble to Hanun and the Ammonite community by instigating an avoidable war with David.

This war would have been completely avoided if the commanders of Hanun had simply spoken the truth.

The king of the Ammonites had been a good friend to David during his lifetime.Following the death of the Ammonite king, David sent messengers to the king’s son, Hanun, to offer condolences and show kindness.2 Samuel 10:2-3[2]David said, I will show kindness to Hanun son of Nahash, as his father did to me. So David sent his servants to console him for his father’s death; and they came into the land of the Ammonites,
[3]But the princes of the Ammonites said to Hanun their lord, Do you think that it is because David honors your father that he has sent comforters to you? Has he not rather sent his servants to you to search the city, spy it out, and overthrow it?

Instead of accepting the gesture, the commanders of Hanun presented a false and distorted message to their king regarding the visitors’ intentions.The commanders claimed that David did not send the messengers to honor Hanun’s father, but rather to scout, spy on, and overthrow the city.

The text highlights how easily associates can distort good intentions and cause catastrophic misunderstandings.
Hanun suffered because he listened to the paranoid and untruthful counsel of his commanders rather than recognizing David’s genuine goodwill and so The entire Ammonite nation was dragged into a destructive conflict because of the lies spoken by a few powerful advisors.

And so we should also evaluate the honesty of those we rely on, as their failure to speak the truth can ruin vital relationships and alliances.
