DEMONSTRATING EPHRONES KINDNESS

From a purpose perspective, we realise that Individuals should actively demonstrate a sense of purpose in their actions.

Kindness should be extended to others in the same manner that it is received.

The story of the sale of a field containing a cave serves as a primary example of purposeful behavior.

The act of selling land to Abraham where He should bury the dead is presented as a model for human interaction and Ephron the Hittite is identified as a kind individual for facilitating the land transaction.
Genesis 23:4-5[4]I am a stranger and a sojourner with you; give me property for a burial place among you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.[5]And the Hittites replied to Abraham,

Abraham’s status in the land of Canaan was that of a resident alien.
The specific location involved in the exchange was the cave of Machpelah.
Prior to the purchase, Abraham possessed no land of his own in Canaan.

The Teaching emphasizes the importance of being helpful to those who are outsiders or displaced and the social necessity of land ownership for cultural rites.

DO NOT SHED INNOCENT BLOOD JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT THE THING’S OF THE WORLD

According to realisation of note as per to due, we realise that one should never shed innocent blood in the pursuit of worldly power or material wealth.

The desire for the things of this world is not a valid justification for taking a life.

The biblical account of Jehoram, the son of Jehoshaphat, serves as a primary warning against this behavior.
Jehoshaphat had several sons, but the right to the kingdom was granted to Jehoram because he was the firstborn.
Once Jehoram had established and strengthened his kingdom, he chose to murder all of his brothers with a sword.
Jehoram’s motivation for killing his siblings was a desire to solidify and strengthen his own political position.2 Chronicles 21:1-4[1]JEHOSHAPHAT SLEPT with his fathers and was buried with [them] in the City of David. Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.2]He had brothers: Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azariah, Michael, and Shephatiah, all the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.[3]Their father gave them great gifts of silver, gold, and precious things, together with fortified cities in Judah, but the kingdom he gave to Jehoram, the firstborn.[4]When Jehoram had ascended to the kingship of his father, he strengthened himself and slew all his brethren with the sword and also some of Israel’s princes.

There is a clear moral directive against prioritizing personal gain over the lives of others.

The text emphasizes that power should not be maintained through violence against one’s own family.
Jehoram’s actions are presented as a negative example of leadership and morality.
The narrative highlights the dangers of greed and the lust for absolute control and so, the transition of power from Jehoshaphat to Jehoram was initially peaceful and based on birthright but misused in a sense of killing His brothers

Reflective questions about the teaching

a) As reflected to note, who was the firstborn of Jehoshaphat?

b) What is that which He did against His brothers

c) Was He right to kill his brothers just because of power?

d) What does this lesson teach us as reconciled upon in perspective

e) Give an understanding of due as reflected upon to note

Confession prayer

Dear Lord Jesus I will not shed innocent blood because of this world’s positions and prestige

HIGH PLACES

The Central theme of this teaching in view focuses on the act of rebuilding pagan places of worship.

We realise that such locations are historically and spiritually referred to as “High places.”High places are defined as specific sites where sacrifices were historically made to other gods.

these locations remain the same today as places where people still go to sacrifice to “small gods and so “The text highlights the actions of King Manasseh upon his rise to power.

Manasseh actively re-established the worship of small gods and so this action was a direct reversal of his father’s previous work which Manasseh’s father had originally done of destroying these pagan sites.2 Kings 21:1-3 1]MANASSEH WAS twelve years old when he began his fifty-five-year [wicked] reign in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hephzibah.[2]He [Hezekiah’s son] did evil in the sight of the Lord, after the [idolatrous] practices of the [heathen] nations whom the Lord cast out before the Israelites.3]For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal and made an Asherah, as did Ahab king of Israel, and worshiped all the [starry] hosts of the heavens and served them!

a) According to our teaching in perspective, what is that which Mannaser rebuilt when He came to power?

b) Was He right to rebuild high places which His Father had destroyed

e) According to our perspective in due, what is that which King Hezekiah had destroyed?

Dear Lord Jesus I ask that you help me not to be drawn to any sense of idol worship in Jesus name Amen

HOW TO DEFEAT YOUR ENEMIES

The bible gives us an amplified perspective of view on how Jehoshaphat defeated those that didn’t t like Him.

King Jehoshaphat faced a massive military threat from a combined alliance of the Moabites, Ammonites, and Meunites
The primary response to this crisis was to determinedly seek the Lord as a vital necessity.

A fast was proclaimed throughout all of Judah to focus on spiritual intervention and so The biblical account in 2 Chronicles 20 serves as an amplified guide on how to properly defeat enemies.2 Chronicles 20:1-3[1]AFTER THIS, the Moabites, the Ammonites, and with them the Meunites came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
[2]It was told Jehoshaphat, A great multitude has come against you from beyond the [Dead] Sea, from Edom; and behold they are in Hazazon-tamar, which is En-gedi.[3]Then Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself [determinedly, as his7 vital need] to seek the Lord; he proclaimed a fast in all Judah.

Some people today mistakenly attempt to fight their battles using ineffective methods or mere words of reconciliation.
Jehoshaphat’s enemies originated from various regions, including those from beyond the Dead Sea and Edom.

The king’s initial reaction included a natural sense of fear, which he channeled into spiritual action.
The multitude of enemies had already reached Hazazon-tamar (En-gedi) before the king took action.
The strategy used by Jehoshaphat provides a specific perspective on how to handle those who oppose you.
Seeking divine guidance is presented as the most important step when facing a great multitude of opposition.

Reflective questions about the teaching

a) Realising purpose of note as due to our teaching in view, how was Jehoshaphat able to defeat His enemies?

Dear Lord Jesus am grateful and blessed in heart to see to it that whatever I go through you will help me defeat my enemies

GIVE PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

As a leader it is inconsequential to think that you can do everything by yourself. You can’t do everything by yourself and you cant bear the burden of the people alone. Whichever people God has given you to lead, You can’t bear that responsibility alone that is why Moses acknowledged his need to be helped.

Moses said to the people that I can no longer bear

  • The responsibility on my own
  • The Lord your God has so multiplied you that you are so numerous Deuteronomy 1:9-12[9]I said to you at that time, I am not able to bear you alone.[10]The Lord your God has multiplied you, and behold, you are this day as the stars of the heavens for multitude.[11]May the Lord, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times as many as you are and bless you as He has promised you![12]How can I bear alone the weariness and pressure and burden of you and your strife?

Reflective questions about the teaching

a) As children of the Lord, can we bear the responsibility that the Lord has given us by our own?

b) What is that which Moses did in order to relieve Himself of some duties

c) Give an understanding of due as realised upon to context

d) What may be some of the lessons that you learn from our teaching in view

There are people God lifts in order to carry out His judgement over others

It’s important to note that this is not a doctrine we should conjure but rather we realise that there are people that God lifts in order that they carry out the judgement of God over others

We realise that The elevation of certain figures is tied directly to the elimination of corruption or previous legacies, such as the house of Jeroboam.

When you read the word of God in view to divine procedure, you will realise that God said, He would

  • Raise up a king who would eliminate the entire house of Jeroboam. This king was lifted not just to rule but to account towards a certain responsibility which had to be fulfilled by Him 1 Kings 14:14[14]Moreover, the Lord will raise up for Himself a king over Israel who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam this day. From now on

  • Reflective questions about the teaching

a) For what purpose did God say He would raise up a king

b) Realise purpose of note as due to some of the lessons that you learn from our purpose study

c) Give an account of divine purpose as due to our teaching

Confession prayer

Dear Lord Jesus am grateful for this insight in view to the purpose of your will in Jesus name Amen

Not fulfilling the purpose of God has negative Consequences

The blessings, opportunities and privileges that come with walking in the ways the Lord are numerable. They are more than what we can compare to anything

We realise that whenever we are not in our way towards the purpose of God we miss that which The Lord would have done to us.

The more you neglect the purpose of God over your life, The more you miss out all that which God has for you.

Jeroboam chose to do the exact opposite of the instructions and guidance provided by the Lord.Instead of following God, Jeroboam created two golden calves for worship.1 Kings 12:28-29[28]So the king took counsel and made two calves of gold. And he said to the people, It is too much for you to go [all the way] up to Jerusalem. Behold your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.
[29]And he set the one golden calf in Bethel, and the other he put in Dan.

These idols were placed in the locations of Bethel and Dan.
Because of this specific act of disobedience, Jeroboam’s dynasty did not last long.
There is a direct correlation between the level of neglect toward one’s assignment and the loss of divine favor.
Realizing one’s departure from God’s way is essential to understanding what is being missed.

Reflective questions about the teaching

A) According to purpose of due, how come the dynasty of King Jeroboam did not last long

B) What is that which The LORD said he would do for Jeroboam if he walked in His ways

C) What should be some of the lessons that we draw in reference to our purpose of note

d) What is the applicability of this teaching in relation to our day to day life?

Confession prayer

Dear Lord give me grace to walk according to your way and to the comfort of your grace in Jesus name Amen

IF YOU LIVE BEFORE ME AS YOUR FATHER David, I WILL ESTABLISH YOUR THRONE FOREVER

The most important thing of all as revered in perspective is how you live before The Lord. The Lord promised Solomon that his kingdom would be established forever if he lived before Him as his father David did.2 Chronicles 7:17-18 [17]As for you[Solomon], if you will walk before me as David your father walked, and do all I have commanded you, and observe My statutes and My ordinances, [I Kings 11:1-11.]
[18]Then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, as I covenanted with David your father, saying, There shall not fail you a man to be ruler in Israel.

So living before the Lord is more important than how one lives before men.

The priority of an individual’s life should be their divine purpose.
Justification in one’s actions is found in how they live before the Lord and so the example set by David serves as the standard for living before God.

The relationship between a father’s spiritual walk and a son’s promise is significant.

Reflective questions about the teaching

a) What did The LORD say to Solomon if He lived before Him as His Father lived before Him?

b) what would be your analysis of due in reflection

c) What is the applicability of this teaching in relation to our day to day life?

Confession prayer

Dear Lord Jesus am grateful for this declaration in faith that as David lived before you in integrity of heart so will I live before you Amen

SPIRITUAL DANGERS OF Ingratitude TOWARDS THE LORD

Worshipping any entity other than the LORD is defined as a wicked act of idolatry.

King Jeroboam of Israel was sovereignly elevated to his position of power by God.God bestowed the largest portion of the kingdom upon Jeroboam however Jeroboam’s subsequent actions stood in direct contrast to the high position God granted him.

After being lifted up by the Lord, Jeroboam turned against Him.
Jeroboam committed a grave sin by constructing two golden calves.
One of the golden calves was established in the location of Bethel. The second golden calf was placed in a location called Dan.1 Kings 12:28-30[28]So the king took counsel and made two calves of gold. And he said to the people, It is too much for you to go [all the way] up to Jerusalem. Behold your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.29]And he set the one golden calf in Bethel, and the other he put in Dan.[30]And this thing became a sin; for the people went to worship each of them even as far as Dan.

As to thus, we realise that the act of creating these idols is presented as a betrayal of the divine favor Jeroboam received.

Jeroboam’s leadership is characterized by a shift from divine appointment to pagan worship.

Reflective questions about the teaching

A) Who is Jeroboam son of Nebat as contextualized upon to reference?

b) As related upon to this teaching in view, who is the source of legitimate authority and power

c) Give some of the lessons you learn in view

Confession prayer

Dear Lord Jesus.. am grateful for this teaching about Jeroboam son of Nebat. I pray that I may contextualize something that will shape me to purpose. AMEN

THE FATAL MISTAKE OF OUR SPIRITUAL FAILURE

From an inclined purpose of due in perspective, we realise that the primary cause of fatal spiritual failure is abandoning the law and word of the Lord.

Individuals must never tolerate anything that pushes their lives away from God’s divine purpose.

Failure often occurs when people stop honoring the covenant they have established with the Lord.
King Rehoboam serves as the central biblical example of a fatal spiritual collapse in view to how he misbehaved after he had established his sovereignty and Royal power , 2 Chronicles 12:1[1]WHEN REHOBOAM had established the kingdom and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him.

Reflective questions about the teaching

a) As reflected to note, what was Rehoboams spiritual fatal failure
